IL Tutorial: The Title Page

The Title page at the front of the book provides:

• The official name of the book (which may differ from what appears on the cover)
• The name of the author or editor
• The publisher's name
• The place of publication

The Verso is on the reverse side of the title page. Here, you can find the copyright date or when the book was published. This date is usually a year proceeded by an encircled c. This will help you determine how current the information in the book is.
