CMP102H - Composition 2 Honors - Magnolia: Communications & Media

Communications and Media

Communications Studies: Communication studies is a multifaceted discipline concerned with the study of the production, transmission and consumption of meanings via diverse media (oral, print, broadcast, film, computer networks) in an array of contexts (interpersonal, racial, cultural, political, organizational, international). Communication is thus an interdisciplinary field that embraces a variety of approaches and methodologies from both the social sciences and the humanities. The field has historical roots in several disciplines (notably journalism, speech and drama, rhetoric and composition, psychology and sociology).
