This Libguide is designed to help you access reliable sources for your paper. Your assignment asks you to research a specific city or town and write an informational paper about that place. You will be looking for information about your city's history, culture, government and economy as well as, what makes interesting facts and what makes your city unique. You will also need to find basic information about your city, such as: population, demographics, and geography.
Use this guide as a starting point for your research. You will find links to databases where you can find reference sources for background reading and search in local newspapers and magazines. There is also information on using census data and other online resources.
Interested in reserving space in the Library to work on your project? You can reserve the Library's study rooms here!
Access to many of the database links on this guide requires NSCC authentication - users must sign in with their MyNorthshore username & password
If you want to place any library materials on hold, request a book from another library, or check out any physical library materials out you will need to have your NSCC ID.
