How do I get a BPL eCard?
- Complete the online application via the BPL eCard webpage
- Massachusetts residents and users who attend school or work in Massachusetts are eligible for a BPL eCard
- After completing the application, you should receive an email with your eCard number within 15 minutes (be sure to check your spam folder).
- Register your account using the information provided in the email with your eCard number.
- Registering your account will allow you to access all account features including resetting your 4 digit PIN
- Registering your account will also allow you to create a username to log in, as opposed to remembering your 14 digit barcode
- If you already have a physical library card from the Boston Public Library, there is no need to apply for an eCard. Use the 14 digit library card number (or the username you created when you registered your account) to access BPL resources
