What is TEAS?

The ATI TEAS, or Test of Essential Academic Skills, is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. The ATI TEAS test is comprised of 170 questions set up in a multiple-choice format with four-option answers. Questions are designed to test the basic academic skills you will need to perform in class in the areas of: Reading, Math, Science, and English and Language Usage. Online Resources

As of January 2025, current NSCC students can access online TEAS Test Prep materials using PrepStep. 

  • To get started using PrepStep, follow the link above
  • Next, click 'Sign In/Register"
  • New users will need to register using their North Shore user name and password.
  • Please note that you should NOT enter your Student ID number

Once you've registered, you can begin using the tool.

To find nursing-related tests, specifically TEAS

  • Select the 'Career Preparation' tile from the home page
  • Next, select 'Prepare for Nursing Exams' from the expanded list
  • Under 'Prepare for Nursing School Entrance Tests,' choose ATI TEAS Preparation
  • Alternatively, searching 'TEAS' in the main search box will also bring you to the TEAS testing resources

LearningExpress Library from the Boston Public Library

LearningExpress Library is an online program that you have access to using your BPL E-card. It includes test preparation materials and practice exams for K-12 subjects, high school equivalency, college and graduate admissions, military, U.S. citizenship, and professional licensing and certification exams. This includes TEAS, practices tests, and study guides. 

To find TEAS review material: 

  • Click this link to access LearningExpress through BPL
  • Login using your BPL E-Card number and PIN
  • At the top of the page, click "Sign In/Register" and create a personal account
  • Once you have created a personal account and signed in, Search "TEAS" in the search box in the middle of the page. 
  • From there you will be able explore all the TEAS study material available.
