This guide is for students in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. After using this guide, students will be able to locate and cite sources needed to support and complete coursework, and find information and tutorials on processes that will provide research strategies.

Medical and Health Science Textbooks, Reference Books, and Dictionaries

Use textbooks and reference books to build basic foundational knowledge on your topic. Good for medical background information on a disease, disorder or condition.

Professional Journals

Professional publications use research to determine the effectiveness of Occupational Therapy interventions, and to improve upon diagnosis and prognosis of diseases, disorders and conditions. Use the Publication field limiter in CINAHL Complete to limit your search to American Journal of Occupational Therapy or another core OT publication.

Find Articles

Use current scholarly, peer reviewed journals to find evidence based research studies. Consider patient diagnosis/population, interventions and outcomes of interest when searching.
