This summer, to stay connected and engaged, the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) will be offering a summer book club. As many of us have been awakened to racial injustice and inequity in our society, OSE is offering an opportunity for introspection and re-examining ourselves and our social norms by allowing us to learn through books that address these inequities. Two books have been selected: The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison and White Fragility by Robin Diangelo. Beginning the week of July 13th, we will meet weekly to have facilitated discussion around these topics. You can choose one book or both! We look forward to reading, learning, listening and growing!
We hope you can join us.

Thank you for visiting this research guide! This guide is designed to support the OSE's summer book club. The titles selected by OSE deal with issues of race, racism, and social injustice and offer a lens through which we can examine the the current call for racial justice in the United States. We hope the resources we have selected will enhance your reading and understanding fo these books and offer your different ways of thinking about these issues both in the literature we read and in the world we live in and create with our actions.
If you are interested in learning more or doing additional research on these books, please reach out to the library anytime!
