How Do I...

Get a library card?

Your NSCC ID is also your library card. Stop by the Student Life Office in Danvers (DB 132) or Lynn (LW 171) with a current class schedule to get an ID. Bring your NSCC ID to the library circulation desk; we will activate it and give you a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for your online library account.

How do I find a LibGuide?

To find a LibGuide for your subject area or class, go to the LibGuide main page. In the search box at the top of the page enter a subject term or your instructor's last name.

Use the Library's Journal and Article Locator tool.

Find audiobooks?

Use reserves?

Stop by the Lynn or Danvers Campus library circulation desk with your current NSCC ID to use reserves. NSCC Reserves are for library use only unless a check out period is requested by a professor.

Access library resources from off-campus?

In order to access some library resources off campus you must have a library activated NSCC ID. The fourteen digit number on the bottom of your ID is your library card number. Enter in this number when accessing databases off-campus.

Request library materials that are not at NSCC?

You can stop by the library and ask a staff member to help you or you can request items online through the NOBLE Catalog. When requesting online, you must have a current and activated NSCC ID and a PIN. If the NOBLE network does not own the research materials you need, we will try to obtain them via interlibrary loan. Contact an interlibrary loan staff member for more information.

Use my card at other libraries?

Your NSCC ID can be used at any NOBLE college library. At NOBLE public libraries use your public library card. If you have more questions about access to other institution's libraries, contact a staff member at the Lynn or Danvers Campus Library.

Renew library materials?

You can renew items three ways: in the library, online by logging into your library account, or by phone: Danvers - (978) 739-5526 or Lynn - (781) 477-2133). To renew online you will need your library card number and PIN and the items cannot be overdue. To renew by phone have your library card available as we will need the number from it.

Return materials?

You can return materials borrowed from the NSCC libraries to any NOBLE library.

Use museum passes?

We have passes available at both the Lynn and Danvers Campus libraries for the Peabody Essex Museum. Each pass admits two adults. The museum does charge $5.00 per person with the pass. Each library has passes for specific days:
Danvers Campus Library passes: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
Lynn Campus Library passes: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The Lynn Campus Library has four student passes for free admission to the Lynn Museum and Historical Society. Each pass admits one student.

You must have your NSCC ID to pick up passes at the library. We do not mail them. We suggest that you reserve passes if you want them for a specific date. Passes can be reserved at the library circulation desk, by phone (Danvers (978) 739-5526, Lynn (781) 477-2133) or email (nsb@noblenet.org).

Museum passes are checked out for three days. Fines accrue at $1.00 per day for an overdue pass.
